Abstract
The purpose of this research was to know the improvement of children language ability through story telling by using picture series. This research was a classroom action research. The subject of research was the student of Group B in TK Aisyiyah III Semanggi Pasar Kliwon Surakarta. This research was conducted for four meetings in two cycles. Every cycle consisted of four steps: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data were collected by observation/field note, interview, and documentation. This research used triangulation to collect the data from many sources. The result of this research showed that there was an improvement in children language ability at this group using this method. The improvement of children language ability could be seen by comparing the result of observation ie before action was 30%, after cycle I was 60%, and after cycle II was 85%. Based on the research finding, it could be concluded that story telling by using picture series could improve the children's language ability at Group B in TK Aisyiyah III Semanggi Pasar Kliwon Surakarta.
