Abstract

The teacher is one of the important components in the learning process. Therefore, teachers are required to have basic teaching skills to be able to carry out the learning process well. Micro Teaching courses provide basic provisions to prospective teachers about how to design and implement effective learning. Micro learning is also directed to the formation of four competencies based on Government Regulation Number 19 of 2005 concerning National Education Standards. Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers of article 10 paragraph 1 there are four competencies that contain basic teaching skills that must be possessed by each teacher that can be obtained through Micro Teaching. The purpose of this study was to determine the basic skills of teaching Biology students of FKIP UMS in the Micro Teaching course of the 2017/2018 academic year. This type of research is a descriptive study to describe the basic skills of teaching Biology Education students of FKIP UMS in the Micro Teaching course of the 2017/2018 academic year. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Based on the research that has been done, the results show that the basic skills of teaching Biology Education FKIP UMS students in the Micro Teaching course for the 2017/2018 academic year are categorized as good (73.83%).
