Abstract
Introduction : Stunting is a growth disorder that occurs due to long-term malnutrition starting from the fetus to the first two years of life. Causes of stunting are infectious diseases, less energy intake and intake of micronutrients (iron, zinc, calcium). Objective : To determine the correlation between iron and zinc intake with nutritional status in toddler (6-24 months) at Puskesmas Penumping Surakarta. Methods : The research was an observasional study with cross sectional approach. 53 toddlers (6-24 months) were recruited by Simple Random Sampling technique. Data of iron and zinc intake were obtained by interviewing of feed intake for the last 3 months using Semi Quantitative – Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) and nutritional status data (L/A) was obtained by measuring of length body compared with age using lengthboard. The correlation between iron and zinc intake with nutritional status were analyzed by Pearson Product Moment test. Results : Less iron intake of toddler is 30 toddlers (56,6%), less zinc intake of toddler is 27 toodlers (50.9%) and stunting toddler is 17 toddlers (32.1%).Conclusions : There was no correlation between iron intake and nutritional status (L/A) (p=0.382) and there was a correlation between zinc intake and nutritional status (L/A) (p=0.027).
