Abstract

This study has two purposes. (1) Present the types of substitutions contained in Tere Liye's novel Sunset Joint Rosie novel. (2) Describe the substitution contained in Tere Liye's novel Sunset Bersama Rosie novel. This research uses qualitative research type. The data in this study are words or sentences that use substitution. Sources of research data is taken from the written words contained in the novel Sunset Together Rosie by Tere Liye. Techniques of collecting data using literature techniques, refer to, and record. Data analysis techniques using the agih method. The results of this study found 44 types of substitutions consisting of Substitution of Phrase 17, Substitution Nomina 13, Substitution Verba 4, Substitution Clause 10. This study concluded that the use of phrase substitution more dominated in Tere Liye's novel Sunset Bersama Rosie novel.
