Abstract

The aims of the research are 1) describe character education of environmental cares at elementary school of 09 Sidanegara Cilacap. 2) know the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of character education of environmental care through the school culture. This research uses descriptive qualitative research type. The data source used in this study are principal, teacher and students. Techniques of collecting data with interviews, observation and documentations. The data validity technique uses source and method tirangulations. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The result of the research show that the character education of enviroment cara through the school culture at elementary school of 09 Sidanegara Cilacap,implemented in the form of activities routine, spontaneous activities, conditioning and examplary and PK2S program. Supporting factors in the character education of enviromental care through school culture is cooperation with outsiders and adequate facillities and infrastructure. The inhibiting factors are the number of students with different characteristics and the teachers divide their time by teaching so they can not supervise the students throughout the day during school.
