Abstract
The purpose of research to know 1) level of student knowledge on hydrological cycle material before learning using video media in the delivery of material and 2) the level of students' knowledge on the hydrological cycle material after learning using video media in the delivery of material. The type of research used is experimental research, the research design used was pre experimental which in this research design still found the dependent variable. The design of this study used the pretest-posttest one-group model (one-prity pre-pascates) which consists of three parts: pretest done before treatment, treatment, and post-test after treatment. The research method used is experimental research using 2 experimental classes by comparing the students' learning outcomes given different treatment. The class that used for experiment is class X which amounts to 15 students by using instructional material of video media in learning and class that used as control class is class X² which amounts to 30 students with conventional learning process. Instrument testing techniques use validity test and reliability test. Data analysis technique in this research use normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test by using SPSS 20 program in data processing. The result of the experiment showed that the experimental class obtained an average pretest value of 32 and an average posttest score of 46 thus there is an increase in student learning outcomes using video media teaching materials of 14, while the control class obtained a pretest average score of 50.7 and the posttest average score of 80.7 increased by 30. These results indicate that learning using video media teaching materials is less effective than learning that does not use video media teaching materials. Based on the results of the t test conducted there is a difference between classes that use video media teaching materials with classes that do not use teaching materials mdia video. Judging from the improvement of study result in experiment class of 14 and control class of 30, it can be concluded that the result of experiment class grade (class X) is lower than control class (class X²).
