Abstract

Microalgae is aquatic microorganisms that sized microscopik. It has the characteristic of having no roots, steams and leaves. It is photoautotropic because it can carry out photosynthesis. The habitat of its is in the fresh water, sea water, lakes, ponds and the water that have the intensity of light and humid place. The alm of this research is to know the diversity of microalgae at Umbul Kemanten, Sidowayah Village, Polanharjo, Klaten, Central Java. This research uses purposive sampling approach on determining the location of the station. Kinds of microalgae that is found on this study at 26 spesies. that are Westella botryoides, Cladophora sp, Cladophora crispata, Microspora amoena, Microspora tumidula, Ulothrix sp, Ulothrix zonata, Botryococcus braunii, Desmidium grevillei, Arthrodesmus controversus, Staurodesmus cupidatus, Spondylosium sp, Spondylosium scalaris, Closterium navicula, Nitzschia sp, Navicula sp, Synedra sp, Synedra ulna, Gomphonema sp, Gomphonema spaerophorum, Aulacoseira baicalensis, Rhizosolenia sp, Gonyostomum semen, Chamaesiphon sp, Anabaena sp, Trachelomonas abrupta. The classis of Diatomeae is most found that is 9 species of microalgae. The classis of Chlorophyceae in the second place that is 8 species of microalgae. The classis of Conjugatae in the third place that is 6 species of microalgae. The classis on of Flagellata and classis of Cyanophyceae in the last place that is found each 2 species of microalgae. The studi shows that the diversity of microalgae at Umbul Kemanten, Polanharjo, Sidowayah Village, Polanharjo, Klaten, Central Java is very diverse.
