Abstract

ABSTRACT Self esteem is a form of evaluation or self-assessment of self regarding self-esteem and self-awareness which is indicated by the attitude of acceptance both positively and negatively with what is in the individual itself. Bullying problems that occur in schools often have a bad impact on the self esteem adolescents. This study aims to understand and describe how self esteem in junior high school students who become victims of bullying. Informants in this study amounted to 5 (five) junior high school students who become victims of bullying. Data collection in this study using semi-structured interview. Data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion can be concluded that the five students who become victims of bullying have self-perception or self-assessment such as self-regard as a moody, arrogant, always wrong, like to complain and take care of the affairs of others, sometimes good sometimes evil, vengeful, immature, unbecoming, egoistic, ignorant, outrageous, abusive, lacking in self-confidence, and self-assuming strange. The bullying that occurs in the school is bullying in a verbal, physical, and relational way. Then the factors that affect self-esteem in students who become victims of bullying include: self-acceptance, social support, family, success, status and achievements ever achieved and religion.
