Abstract
The purpose of this research is to describe: 1) the influence of book spending on student's economic literacy, 2) the influence of library visit to student economic literacy, 3) the influence of book spending and library visit to student's economic literacy. This research uses a quantitative method of survey design. Population in this research is student of class XI Department of Social Science (IPS) SMA Negeri 1 Karangdowo that is as many as 120 student. The sampling technique using Simple random sampling that is as much as 89 respondents. Data obtained from questionnaires previously tested with validity and reliability tests. Data analysis 2 techniques used are multiple linear regression test, t test, f test, R2 test, and SR & SE. Teh results of research using multiple linear regression equition of Y= 6,552 (a) + 0,313X1 + 0,397X2. Equation show that the student’s economic literacy is influenced by book spending and library visit. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research are: (1) book spending has significant effect to student's economic literacy, proved from regression analysis of t test to obtain tcount > ttable that is 5,647 > 1,991 and significance value 0,000 < 0,05 with a relative contribution of 35,93% and effective contribution of 22,99%. (2) the visit to the library has an effect on the students' economic literacy, as evidenced by the regression analysis of t test obtain tcount > ttable that is 8,343 > 1,991 and significance value 0,000 < 0,05 with a relative contribution of 64,07% and effective contribution of 41,01%. (3) book spending and library visit have an effect on student economic literacy, proved from regression analysis of test f to get tcount > ttable that is 76,280 > 3,102 and significance value 0,000 <0,05 and the coefficient of determination (R2) of 64% indicates that the influence of book spending and library visit to economic literacy is 64% and 36% other is influence by other variabels.
