Abstract

This research aims to: (1) describe the violation of the principle of cooperation in a collection of short stories Last Night Leila Chudori work, (2) describe the violation of the principle of politeness in a collection of short stories Last Night Leila Chudori work, (3) implements violations of principles of cooperation and violation of the principle of politeness in the collection of short stories last night by Leila S. Chudori on Indonesian language learning in High School. The research is a qualitative research. The data in this study is a dialogue that infringes the principles of cooperation and the violation of the principle of politeness. Sources of data in this study were taken from the short story collection Last Night 2 work of Leila Chudori. The data collection technique using the technique see and record. Mechanical analysis using unified methods and techniques basically use basic techniques aggregated decisive element in determining the tools and techniques are changing referents that parafrasal intentions. The validity of the data in this study using triangulation theory. The results showed that found as many as 17 utterances that contain violations of the principles of cooperation fourmaxim, namely (1) maxim of quantity, (2) maxim of quality, (3) the maxim of relevance, and (4) the maxim of implementation.
