Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. Characterized by many psychic, physical and social changes. Perceptions of adolescents in general in response to problems faced with all its own, then the realization of juvenile delinquency. Delinquency of young teenagers in essence is a product of social environment conditions with social turmoil in it and minimal understanding of Islamic religious education in adolescents. The main purpose of this research is to know the relationship between juvenile delinquency with Islamic religious education and character in SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta. Hypothesis proposed that there is a negative relationship between juvenile delinquency with Islamic religious education and character in SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta. The subjects of the study were students of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta class XI MIPA 5 and XI IPS 5 which amounted to 47 students. The research method used a quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used is product moment correlation test using SPSS 19.0 For Windows Program. Based on product moment analysis results obtained correlation coefficient value (r) of 0.425; p = 0,000 (p <0.05) means that there is a negative relationship between juvenile delinquency with Islamic religious education and character. The level of delinquency is low by 43.19. Effective contribution between juvenile delinquency variable with Islamic religious education and character in SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta amounted to 13%, which means there are still 87% other factors affecting juvenile delinquencyn schools such as less harmonious family environments, bad influence from parents, more protection from parents, free association with peers and free access to social media without supervision.
