Abstract
This study aims to describe the transformational leadership that has been implemented by the principal and the factors that support and inhibit its application in SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar Gumpang Kartasura. This type of research is qualitative research. Using observation data collection techniques, interviews and documentation. Data validity using triangulation. The results of the study show that the transformational leadership of SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar Gumpang Kartasura head includes: establishing school vision and mission, striving to realize school vision and mission, preparing highly competent teacher qualifications, inviting and motivating all school residents to realize school vision and mission, and be a role model for teachers. supporting and inhibiting factors in applying transformational leadership of the principal at SDIT Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar Gumpang Kartasura. Factors supporting the transformational leadership of the principal include, family support, parent / guardian support, the majority of Muslims, adequate school infrastructure, youthful human resources (teacher), inter-school collaboration. Supporting factors for transformational leadership principals include family support, support of parents / guardians of students, the majority of Muslims, adequate school infrastructure, young human resources (teachers), cooperation between school residents. The obstacle or obstacle factor of the school principal in carrying out his leadership namely, the character of different human resources, and the lack of learning hours because the learning burden of Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar Gumpang Elementary School is more but the time to attend Diknas is sometimes the learning hours are already late but still lacking.
