Abstract

The need for information becomes a very important need for today's society, almost everyone wants and needs information. Especially with the advancement of communication technology now that provides the flexibility of access for someone to consume information or news because they can access from several sources with the internet. Advances in communications technology have an impact on the mass media era that all forms of conventional media can be connected through the internet so as to make conventional media integrate each other using it, the term media convergence. One of the forms is the online news site Tribunstyle.com that has and provide information about the world news lifestyle through cybernews, with segmentation of young people. Penetration of internet users in Indonesia in recent years is dominated by young people with the main reason to access it to meet the needs of information updates. It certainly makes Tribunstyle.com as a container of information about the millenial world, entertainment and lifestyle should have credibility in pengitaanya related quality published news. The quality of the news is the responsibility of the editor or editor, which is part of management that is directly related to information processing or news. The quality of news related to the credibility of the media in the delivery of information includes the validity of the source of information, so the news can be said worthy to be published. Therefore, this study aims to find out about how Tribunstyle.com editorial management policy in news management so feasible to be published with the focus of research through management functions executed editorial management. This research uses qualitative method with descriptive approach at news website Tribunstyle.com. The research was conducted at Tribunstyle.com headquarter, precisely in Jalan Pakel no. 7a, Kerten, Laweyan, Surakarta city. Research subjects include editors, reporters and editorial leaders determined through purposive methods. Data collection techniques used are observation, interview, and documentation. The results show the management functionality on Tribunstyle.com news portals properly implemented by management in news management covering; (1) Planning in editorial Tribunstyle.com quite well planned, visible from the implementation of vision, media mission with focus on holding the ideology to inform the world of entertainment, lifestyle and millennial just to be published in the media. (2) Organizing, editorial management has established organizational structure with positions and tasks that have been adapted to the expertise of each personnel. Tribunstyle.com has a distribution of responsibility or specialization of news content to each reporter according to the specified rubrication. (3) Actuating in editorial management Tribunstyle.com is the process of managing the news material goes smoothly, starting from the process of reporting, writing, until the editing process of news script and when urgent required reporter ready to be deployed to the field to dig deeper information. (4) Controlling is a very important part in Tribunstyle.com editorial management, conducted in the form of control, supervision in the production of news until direct direction to the reporter when the text of the report edited by the editor or editor when still considered necessary and have lack of data. Tribunstyle.com forms of supervision one of them is the evaluation of work on monitoring news that will be posted with an application Theory gatekeeper, Editor holds an important role as a gatekeeper before the news uploaded. News worthy to post is news that meets the element of news value that requires reporters and mass media is a consequence of events on society, humanity, cadres, the distance of information events, Timelinass important or new or not when the incident happened.
