Abstract
Regional autonomy requires every local government to always innovate to improve the economy of the region. Potential business sectors increasing regional revenues need to be enhanced. Salatiga is a small town in Central Java consisting of 4 sub-districts and has a high level of GRDP compared to other regions. Each sub-district still contributes different income or contribution, so it is still less significant in increasing the local revenue. The purpose of this research is (a) to know the economic potential in each sub-district in Salatiga City 2014-2016, and (b) to know the pattern and structure of economic growth in Salatiga City 2014-2016. The research method used in this research is secondary data analysis. The result of research shows that (a) based on location quota analysis (LQ), it is found that (1) Argomulyo District there are 5 potential business sectors, namely a) agriculture sector, b) mining and quarrying sector, c) electricity, gas and water , d) construction sector, and e) transport and communications sector, (2) Tingkir subdistrict there are 4 potential business sectors, namely a) agriculture sector, b) processing industry sector, c) trade, hotel and restaurant sector, and d) (3) Sidomukti Subdistrict, there are 4 potential business sectors: a) agriculture sector, b) mining and quarrying sectors, c) electricity, gas and water supply sectors; and d) services sector; 4) Sidorejo Sub-district there are 4 potential business sectors, namely a) construction sector, b) trade, hotel and restaurant sector, c) financial sector, leasing and business services, and d) services sector, and (b) based on analysis of the area typology then there are 3 typologies w areas in Salatiga City, namely type II, Type III, and Type IV. Adapaun spread is a district that has type II is Sidomukti District, type III namely District Tingkir and Sidorejo, and type IV is District Argomulyo.
