Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease that has a trend and prevalence changes because its related to risk factor type 2 of DM if not handled so any possibility of incident appear every year. Objective: The purpose of this research is to know the trend and prevalence of DM type 2 in Surakarta City 2017. Research Methodology: This research is cross-sectional study with 99 samples through propotional random sampling. Data analysis use central tendency and ArcGIS spatial analysis of version 10.2. Result: The results of the study revealed that the trend of DM type 2 is age ≥ 46 years, female sex, recent education level from college (D3 / S1), job as housewife (IRT), and has no history of hypertension. The highest incidence rate in subdistrict Jebres (430 new case) while the lowest incidence rate in subdistrict Pasarkliwon (121 new cases). The highest prevalence in subdistrict Serengan (14,38 per 1.000 population) and the lowest prevalence in subdistrict Pasarkliwon (8,02 per 1.000 population). Conclusion: Changes in the prevalence and incidence type 2 of DM every year and describe the spread using GIS spatial analysis with brighter information until fading colouration than the higher the prevalence to the lower. Prevention type 2 of DM such as screening is need to improve quality of life and reduce the prevalence or incidence type 2 of DM cases in Surakarta.
