Abstract

Weleri Station (WLR) is a railway station located in Kelurahan Karangdowo, Weleri District, Kendal District. Station located at the height of + 12 m is entered into Daop 4 Semarang. Station located at No. Station Road. 1 is only visited by economic and business rail except Harina. Weleri Station is the main station in Kendal, the station is also crowded every day to serve the transportation of people who will travel intercity in Central Java and other big cities on the island of Java. Weleri Station now a class II station has facilities and infrastructure such as rail roads, operating facilities, supporting installations (for electricity and telecommunications), platforms, offices, and musholla. The condition of infrastructure at Weleri Station is still poor, the facilities are small platform and havent adequate roof, limited of lanes, until haven’t signage on the facilities inside. This station also has'nt been well integrated with other modes of transportation. It seems that Weleri Station need a new design concept to enlarge the station area as the visitors can grow each year. The concept used in this design is Railway Oriented Development (ROD), which is the concept of development of the area around the station that uses the railway approach. This concept aims to develop the station area into a class I station so as to be able to compete in 2035. In addition, this concept is also expected to be the answer for harmony and balance Between activities and containers in the area Weleri Station.
