Abstract

The background of this research was the VAK method (visual, auditory, kinestethic) as a new alternative in the development of students' potential in understanding the lesson. When application in the VAK method class has its own advantages by linking the student experience with the help that was in the student's self. The purpose of this research is to describe the teacher to implement VAK method, to analyze the problems found by the teacher in the implementation of VAK method, to formulate the concept of effort to overcome the problems of Teachers in VAK Method Implementation in Arabic Language (Durūsu Al-Lugah) in class VII at Pondok Pesantren Al-Mukmin Ngruki and Pondok Pesantren Ta'mirul Islam.This type of research was a qualitative descriptive field research, and using phenomenology approach. Methods of data collection by observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that first: teachers in implementing VAK Method have their own way and various ways. Pondok Pesantren Al-Mukmin Ngruki and Pondok Pesantren Ta'mirul Islam have similarities in applying the Visual method with the teacher showing the writing, pictures, graphs etc, auditory methods with teachers convey through sentence pronunciation, audio media and kinesthetic methods in general very broad eg body movement , hand writing, experiments etc. But in this application Teachers are not aware that they have used the VAK method, because they do not understand theoretically about the method of learning. Second: teacher problems in the implementation of VAK methods are found in teachers and students. Pondok Pesantren Al-Mukmin Ngruki has a problem of teachers who do not understand the method of learning, students are less attention, less teaching facilities and students are sleepy. Pondok Pesantren Ta'mirul Islam has students problems that have different characters, students who are still playing and students who have less ability. Third: Efforts to overcome the problems of teachers in the Implementation of VAK Method in Pondok Pesantren Al-Mukmin Ngruki and Pondok Pesantren Ta'mirul Islam include the need for training for teachers about the application of educational methods, students who have the character in capturing different subjects teachers need understand the character of each student and in applying methods tailored to the character of the student, the teacher needs to ask questions, invite the discussion, often involve students, search for other words when the students are less understood and added daily memorize the Arabic vocabulary.
