Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the competitiveness of exports of Indonesia's leading agricultural sectors and Malaysia in the ASEAN market. The data used in this study are time series secondary data from 2012 to 2016. The analytical tool used in this study is Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share (SS), and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA).Based on the analysis of Location Quotient (LQ) exports of Indonesia's leading agricultural sector in ASEAN Market compared to Malaysia. Indonesia has several subsectors in the agricultural sector that have an LQ> 1 coefficient, namely oil palm, rubber and coconut, and coffee. Similarly for Malaysia also has several subsectors in the agricultural sector which have an LQ> 1 coefficient, namely oil palm, coffee and rubber. In essence, Indonesia and Malaysia both have excellent agricultural sector. Based on Shift Share (SS) analysis, the agricultural sector has the largest share of both Indonesia and Malaysia. The competitiveness of Indonesia and Malaysia has experienced a significant increase especially in palm oil exports in the ASEAN market. Indonesia's leading agricultural RCA index is mainly oil palm under Malaysia, but the appearance of Indonesian palm oil exports is very competitive with Malaysian palm oil.
