Abstract
This study aims to describe the student's problem solving ability in resolving the question of the form of the algebra story. This type of research is qualitative, descriptive, with the taking of 3 subjects of Class VII A3. Data collection techniques used in the study was the documentation of results of Deuteronomy students and interviews. The validity of the data is done by triangulation method with how to compare data in different ways. The results of the problem-solving capability reserved form of the algebra story Class VII MTs Country, Surakarta II 2017/2018 school year based on the steps of Polya. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion of the obtained: (1) understand the problem: students with high abilities and is already able to understand the problems, students with low ability hasn't been able to understand the problem. (2) planning: students with high ability are able to make planning, students with ability of medium and low have not been able to make planning. (3) planning: students with high ability are already able to do planning, students with ability of medium and low have not been able to do the planning. (4) looking back: students with ability of high, medium, low and haven't been able to look back on the results.
