Abstract
Effort to improve the teachers performance can to be through academic supervision. The purpose of this study was to describe 1) Planning, 2) Implementation, 3) Evaluation and 4) Follow-up of academic supervision of the principal in improving teacher performance in SDN III Sempukerep. This study used qualitative research method. The data collection technique was done by observation, interview and documentation. Data analysis technique used interactive technique. Data validity used triangulation technique. The result showed that: 1) Academic supervision planning includes a) The aims of academic supervision are to improve the professionalism and to improve the quality of learning, b) The target of academic supervision is the classroom teacher, c) the scopes of academic supervision are planning, implementation, and learning assessment, d) Academic supervision techniques are individual technique and group technique, e) Academic instruments are lesson planning obeservation sheets and teacher observation sheets, f) Teacher assessment indicators are teachers’ ability in planning, implementation, and learning assessment 2) The implementation of academic supervision includes the initial meeting and observation class, 3) Evaluation of academic supervision includes a) Objectives of evaluation are knowing the disadvantages and advantages of academic supervision activities and improving teacher performance, b) implementation of evaluation is through a personal meeting, c) the result of evaluation is need of guidance to teacher, 4) Follow-up of academic supervision includes Follow-up of principal through meeting and follow-up of teacher through KKG.
