Abstract
Art is a very broad and very difficult thing to find its definition, even the Special Committee on the Study of Art argues that art is a subject that is more elusive than mathematics (Richard Basset, 1974). Solo is one of the cities in Indonesia that appreciate high art, it is seen from the many events or activities, among others: Solo International Performing Art (SIPA), Solo International Ethnic Music (SIEM) and Solo Batik Carnival (SBC). The solo city has the potential in various activities including culture, tourism, business and trade. For that the presence of a venue of Multipurpose Theater Building (GTS) is necessary to introduce art to the community as well as for other needs.
