Abstract
Steam boiler uses pipes to flow steam for a certain period of time. If material receives stress at a temperature exceeding 0.4 absolute melting temperature, the metal will experience creep. This study aims to model the creep of the tube boiler using software based on finite element method. Finite element method creep test results through this compared with the experimental creep test results of one journal as one of the validation achievements. In experimental studies that have been done, using the same material, load temperature and pressure. This study using a software Abaqus / CAE 6.14-5. The test was performed on a cylindrical pipe of a steam boiler with Sanicro 25 Austenitic Steel with an outer diameter of 38mm pipe with 8.8mm thickness and length 50m. Heat load is charged at 750 ºC, with variations of steam pressure 9.3 MPa, 10.3 MPa, 11.3 MPa, 12.3 MPa, 13.3 MPa. The duration of this simulation is about 7 x 106 seconds. The creep data from the simulation results were then matched with the experimental data from the literature, and it was found that the simulation results matched the experimental results. At 11.3 MPa pressure creates a maximum creep of 3,162 x 10-4. The pressure variant can affect the amount of creep produced. The greater the pressure inside the boiler pipe that occurs shows the greater the creep value. Keywords: Creep, boiler, finite element, temperature, heat load, steam pressure.
