Abstract

The city of Surakarta or Solo City is currently a city whose development has tripled from its administrative territory. Solo city is rich in cultural wisdom and traditions that attract tourists. In addition to attracting the attention of local people also began to bring a lot of foreign tourists interest. There are several tourist activities in Solo, such as tours in heritage buildings, batik tour, nature tourism, even culinary tourism. By looking at the potential of the city, and the limited MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and ExhibitionI) facilities available in the city of Surakarta (Solo), it is necessary to provide facilities capable of accommodating various convention and exhibition activities with all adequate supporting facilities. Solo Convention and Exhibition Park (Solo Expo) is a planning design concept that is expected to solve the problem. Solo Expo aims to be a means for business meetings, exhibition as a communication medium of a group to represent works / products, exchange ideas and exchange information. Because Solo City is famous for its beautiful city, the planning targets of Solo Convention and Exhibition Park are using the design of a contemporary building integrated with green open area with standard meet garden facility.
