Abstract

Meubel industry potentially produces air pollution at workplace is wood dust. The wood dust will pollute the air and its environment so the workers can be exposed to dust from raw material which can lead to desreased lung function capacity. This research aims to know the influence of exposure to wood dust against a decrease in lung function capacity of sawmill furniture workers and finishing in CV. Mulya Abadi Sukoharjo. Furniture workers who are in CV. Mulya Abadi Sukoharjo with a population of 200 employees with the target population have lung function capacity declines of 83 people caused the dusty working. The behavior of workers also affects lung function capacity decrease factors such as smoking and the habit of not using protective tools themselves (mask) at the time of work. This type of research is observational research with cross sectional approach. Sample research as much as 70 employees using a purposive sampling technique with consideration of inclusion and ekslusi. Data analysis using Chi Square Test. The results showed there is the influence of exposure to wood dust against a decrease in lung function capacity furniture workers in CV. MulyaAbadiSukoharjo signifinace (p = 0.03).
