Abstract

Postpartum care is a very important factor in improving the quality of postpartum mothers. Increased knowledge can be done by providing health education to pregnant women. The use of more innovative methods of learning on health education is expected to improve the effectiveness of health education in improving the knowledge of pregnant women. This study aims to examine whether it is effective in giving take and give method in postpartum health education as an effort to improve knowledge on third trimester pregnant women at Gemolong Health Center. This research will use pre experimental research type, quantitative analysis using pretest-posttest design without control group (one group pre and post test design). The population of this research are all third trimester pregnant women at Gemolong Public Health Center amounting to 35 pregnant women, 35 research samples of pregnant obtained by consecutive sampling technique. The data were collected using questioner and analyzed using paired sample t-test. The results obtained tcount of 9,780 (p-value = 0,000), then the test decision is H0 rejected. The conclusion of this research is health education about puerperal treatment with take and give method effectively increase the level of knowledge of pregnant mother at Gemolong Public Health Center.
