Abstract
This study aims to find out the concept of Muhammad bin Shalih al-Utsaimin's thought about Islamic education and its relevance to the concept of modern education. Researchers use research that is Library Research by using written materials that have been published in book form. The paradigm used qualitative, research procedures that will produce descriptive data in the form of words, records that have relevance to the meaning (meaning), value and understanding. With a philosophical approach, meaning all subtansinya require philosophical or theoretical process and related to value. The results showed that the basic source of Ibn Utsaimin in Islamic education is the Qur'an, sunnah and ijma '(agreement of salaf scholars). The function of education is to deliver students to the understanding of the science of the Qur'an and sunnah as desired by Allah and His Apostle who then he practice the science, and the purpose of education is for students to be able to worship and worship God above science and correct understanding . Educational environment that gives influence to students from home, mosque, madrasah, ma'had ilmi, university. Educators and students in their view should adorn themselves with good qualities and noble character. The concept of Ibn Utsaimin's thought is still very relevant to the concept of modern education today.
