Abstract
This study aims to describe the characteristics of students using Indonesian textbooks, to describe the presentation of the material in the textbook, and to identify the relevance between Indonesian textbooks and the characteristics of students. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The object of this research is Indonesian text book as well as students or students. Then the data in this research is Indonesian text book. While the data collection techniques used in this study are observation, pretest, and interview artists. Data analysis technique in this research is content analysis technique. The results of this study (1) the characteristics of students using the Textbook are relevant, (2) the presentation of the material is relevant to the specified aspects, (3) the material relevance of the Indonesian Textbook 2 there are 6 items irrelevant to SK and KD and 14 items relevant to SK and KD in the even semester, (5) then from pretest results can measure initial ability with easy, easy to approach, difficult and difficult to approach problems Keywords: textbook relevance, student characteristics, pretest
