Abstract

Congestive heart failure is a carotoid activity of the body chemoreceptors increased and is associated with oscillatory respiratory type (Cheyne-Stokes), increased sympathetic nerve activity and increased incidence of arrhythmias. Drug interactions are one of the factors that influence the body's response to the use of the drugs given simultaneously. Inpatient treatment has the potential for drug interactions related to the use of drugs to patients during hospitalization. This study was conducted to determine the potential incidence of drug interactions in patients with congestive heart failure who hospitalized at RSUD Sukoharjo hospital in 2016. This research is non experimental research with retrospective method and analyzed descriptively. Sampling using purposive sampling method. The data were taken as many as 92 samples. Data were analyzed using Drug Information Handbook 17th. Analysis of potential drug interactions was evaluated using Stockley's Drug Interaction in 2008 and drug interaction checker www.drugs.com/druginteractions.html. The results of the study, 75 patients with congestive heart failure were found 69 patient potentially having interacting with 194 interaction cases. 54 cases (42,2%) were pharmacodynamics, 74 cases (57,8%) were pharmacokinetic interactions and 66 cases were not classified. 143 cases (73,7%) were moderate severity interaction, 28 cases (14,4%) were minority severity interaction and 23 cases (11,9%) were major severity interactions. The most common interactions were furosemide with ceftriaxone 11 cases (14,7%), captopri with spironolaktone 10 cases (13,3%) and furosemide with aspirin 8 cases (10,7 %).
