Abstract

Trade routes in Indonesia became the beginning of civilization since the nation's ancestors. The development of trade that occurred in the coastal areas to make the process of infiltration of culture, religion, and spice on an international scale. As with the trade routes on the coast, the form of trade through agricultural commodities into commodities superior sector that occurs in traditional markets, because it is supported by the agrarian region of Indonesia. From this it can be seen that the Indonesian nation is a country capable of self-sufficient for its own nation through the ability of natural resources and human resources. But the more the year of existence of agricultural commodities produced by local farmers increasingly losing space and policies in the sale. This problem not only threatens the economic stability but also the welfare of farmers in producing local food. Therefore, a traditional market place is needed to (1) develop a sustainable traditional "tourism" market through local potential and (2) develop traditional "tourist" market infrastructure with the application of a contextual green architecture. Through the method of discussion used is descriptive, litelature study, field study and data comparison.
