Abstract
Research purposes (1) Determine the criteria of instructional materials desired by students and teachers in learning on human interaction materials with the natural, social, cultural and economic environment of class VII (2) Developing teaching materials used in learning on human interaction materials with the natural, social, cultural and economic environment of class VII VI (3) Determine the effectiveness of teaching materials in learning material of human interaction with natural environment, social, culture, and economy class VII. This study is a Research and Development (R & D) model procedural with steps adapted from Dick and Carrey. The study was conducted in MTs Negeri Surakarta 1 with sampling technique using cluster random sampling technique. The technique of collecting data used by questionnaire and test. Development of teaching materials is done through several stages, the first is to analyze the needs of students and teachers, then the stage of product development. The next stage is the assessment of teaching materials by material experts and materials experts, and the last stage is individual trials conducted by teachers and field trials by students. Result of experimental teaching materials of human interaction with the natural, social, cultural, and economic environments show that teaching materials are feasible and effective in the learning process. The results showed that the students' learning outcomes by using teaching materials increased 18% from before using teaching materials, while student learning result without using teaching materials only increased by 7.73%.
