Abstract
Hyperlipidaemia is an increase of one or more components of fat that can cause various heart diseases. Chemical content in soybean tempe was islavone can be used in lowering cholesterol levels. This experiment aims to measure the potential of soybean tempeh in the reduction of total cholesterol induced by hypercholesterolemia. The test animals were divided into 3 groups: dose of tempe 250 and 500 mg /KgBW extract and 10 mL / Kg BW soybean oil. Furthermore, the test animals were induced with a diet high in cholesterol and high-fat diet for 55 days, then treated for 14 days. The reading was done by using enzymatic colorimetric method at λ 500 nm with cholesterol reagent kit (Dsi) and weighing the mouse each time the cholesterol reading. The results showed the presence of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins after being tested by phytochemical screening. Administration of hypercholesterolemia showed average levels in all mice of 173, 17 mg / dL. After treatment with soy condensed extract (250 mg / kgBW and 500 mg / kgBW) and soybean oil total average cholesterol level in all rats could be truncated to 130 mg /dl.
