Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyse the export competitiveness of natural rubber of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand in United States market. The research used secondary data from various sources during the period of 2005 to 2015. The method used are RCA (Revealed Comparative Advantage), AR (Acceleration Ratio) and ISP (Trade Spesialized Index) approach. The result showed that natural rubber of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand each has a comparative advantage, with Indonesia scoring the highest. Indonesian rubber product has the highest growth of export acceleration compared to its stongest competitor (Malaysia & Thailand) with AR value of 1,00041. The result of the ISP (Trade Specialized Index) analysis showed that Indonesia is a rubber exporting country with ISP score of 0,59 in 2015, ranked below Thailand with ISP score of 0,70 and above Malaysia with 0,34. Based on the ISP analysis it can be concluded that Indonesia is the second largest rubber exporting country to US after Thailand.
