Abstract

Karanganyar is one of the districts that have the largest potential in agricultural sector in Central Java, but this is not realized by the society, especially the farmers in Karanganyar. Lack of farmers awareness in the effort to process agricultural products into other products lead to low selling of agricultural products in Karanganyar District. This is caused by the lack of farmer’s understanding about the added value that can be produced by processing the agricultural products into other products that ready to sell to the society. UMKM Murakabi is a group of women farmers who are aware of the potential. As a developing group, it is necessary for UMKM Murakabi to ensure that the flow of process movement that occurs in the supply chain runs efficiently, where one of the factors that can improve the efficiency of a supply chain is the added value. Based on this background the authors perform value-added analysis using hayami method which aims to identify how the value added can be produced by each link in the supply chain of purple sweet potato processing conducted by UMKM Murakabi, and analyzed the value of production efficiency by using software DEAP 2.1 as material evaluation of production process conducted by UMKM Murakabi. It is expected that the output of this research can motivate and increase the awareness of farmers in Karanganyar Regency to do some agricultural processing compared to selling it in raw condition.
