Abstract

Tuberculosis Multi Drug Resistance or MDR TB is a tuberculosis disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria resistance to at least two first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs, Isoniazid (H) and Rifampicin (R). Increasing of MDR TB incidence is encouraging researchers to conduct this study. The purpose of this study was to investigated the rationale of anti-tuberculosis drug use in MDR (Tuberculosis Multi Drug Resistance) adult patients in RSUD Dr. Moewardi in 2016. This research is a descriptive (non-experimental) study with retrospective retrieval data taken from medical record of Tuberculosis Multi Drug Resistance patient in RSUD Dr. Moewardi 2016. The data were collected by purposive sampling technique in accordance with inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria using Data Collection Sheet. The number of samples used in this study were 62 patients' medical record data with MDR TB diagnoses. Data analysis was performed using Integrated Guidelines for Management of Drug Resistant Tuberculosis Control 2014. This study shows an overview of the treatment of MDR TB in Dr. Moewardi in 2016 using second line OAT consisting of Kanamycin / Capreomycin, Levofloxacin, Etionamid, Cycloserine, Pyrazinamide, Etambutol and Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6), with dose adjusted to patient's weight. The result of evaluation of the rationale of MDR TB treatment is 100% (62 patient) appropriate indication, 100% (62 patient) appropriate patient, 98.4% (61 patient) appropriate medication, and 96.7% (59 patient) appropriate dose.
