Abstract
Introduction : Language skills in preschoolers are an indicator of child development. The achievement of the child in developing language skills allows the child to develop creativity and express what is in their mind. Preschoolers children are the ones who are in the 4-5 years old and in developing girls’ language skills better than boys. This language ability can be influenced by various factors. These different factors can sereve as a reference in assessing the language development of preschoolers. Objective : To know the description of language skills in preschoolers. Method of Research : This research method is used quantitative with cross sectional approach. Respondents amounted 30 children, in the selection of respondents using total sampling technique. Results : The researchers obtained the result that the description of language skills of preschoolers are mostly good. Conclusion : Description of language skills of preschoolers in TK Islam Nur Rahman Slogohimo, Kabupaten Wonogiri are mostly good. These childcare results were obtained based on the assessment using DDST scoring sheets by assessing language development items including : interpreting 5 words, knowning 3 properties, calculate, know the opposite word and interpert 7 words.
