Abstract

Asthma is a common disease, experienced by approximately 5% inhabitants. Both men and women have the same risk of being exposed. Every year nearly 470,000 people are hospitalized and 5,000 deaths in the united states are associated with asthma. A mayor cause of increased airway resistance is smooth muscle cell contraction due to the hipersensitivity of various stimuli such as cold air, smoke, exercise and emotion. Farmakoekonomi defined as a description and analysis of the cost of therapy in a health care system, more specifically is a study of the process of identifying, measuring and comparing costs, risks and benefits of a program, service and therapy and determination of a best alternative. This research is a kind of non experimental research with descriptive design. Retrospective data retrieval through patient record. Average administrative cost incurred by the patient is Rp 980,000 the average cost of the laboratory to be discharged by the patient is Rp 4,524,804, the average cost of consultation to be issued is around Rp 520,000, the average cost of medicines to be issued by the patient is Rp 1.381.282, and the total cost to be paid by the patient is Rp 7,501,282,
