Abstract

Abstract Mira Anggraningrum. The Developing of early reading ability through the audio visual learning media of children group B at TK Aisyiyah 16 Ngringo, Jaten, Karanganyar Academic Year of 2017/2018. Research papern Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta January 2018. The background of this study was the low reading ability of the early children of group B at TK Aisyiyah 16 Ngringo, Jaten, Karanganyar of the academic year of 2017/2018 it resulted that smooth children read or spell a word. Then where many things that affect it. It one of them was the teacher's learning is only monotonous and conventional so that children did not have interest in learning, especially learning on reading. The purpose of this study was to develop the reading ability of the early childhood group B at TK Aisyiyah 16 Ngringo, through the use of audio visual learning media. It was of interesting so that children had an interest to read. This research was in the form of classroom action research which is carried out in 2 cycles. Each cycle consisted of three meetings and several stages, namely: the stage of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were children of group B, which amounted to 17 children. Data collection used observation, interview, and documentation. The data validity test uses technique triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion The results showed that learning by using audio visual media able to develop the ability to read the beginning of children group B at TK Aisyiyah 16 Ngringo. This could be evidenced by the increase in the value of reading ability after the beginning of the action. after the action showed 35% results, the first cycle increased to 59%, and the cycle II of 82%. The conclusion of this research was the use of audio visual learning media able to develop the reading ability of the early childhood group B at TK Aisyiyah 16 Ngringo, Jaten, karanganyar of the academic year of 2017/2018.
