Abstract

Medical record is an archive containing note and document about patient’s identity, examination, medication, treatment and other service which have been given to the patient. Storage system is an activity of storing the medical record aiming to protect it from anyphysical damage and the content of the document. Medical record document storage systemis one of important factors in giving service in a hospital. The medical record documentstorage system gives data availability of any service given to the patient. The study aims to analyze the medical record document storage in Prof.Dr.R. Soeharso Orthopedic Hospital of Surakarta. It is a descriptive study using qualitative approach. The population of the study is the entire officers in medical record document storage division consisting of four people. The sample of the study is the whole population. The data are collected by interview and observation. The data validity uses source triangulation by comparing the fact and the person’s perspective, who are officers in medical record storage and the superordinate or officers in medical record instalation, as well as comparing the result of the interview and the related document. The result of the study shows that the storage system uses centralistic with filling spreading on several places of storage and the system of display uses terminal digit filling system. The average time of preserving medical record to the patients is 8 minutes and the old patients achieve 18 minutes 57 seconds.
