Abstract
Pabrik gliserol dengan bahan baku crude palm oil (CPO) dan air direncanakan didirikan di kawasan Rokan Hlir, Riau dengan kapasitas produksi 9.000 ton/tahun pada tahun 2020. Pembuatan gliserol dilakukan menggunakan reaktor alir tangki berpengaduk (RATB). Secara termodinamika reaksi bersifat eksotermis. Reaksi berlangsung pada suhu 260oC dan tekanan 55bar. Kebutuhan CPO untuk pabrik ini 106,70 kg/jam, air 217,76 kg/jam, dankarbon aktif17,04 kg/jam. Produk berupa gliserol 1.125,00 kg/jam. Utilitas pendukung proses meliputi penyediaan air sebanyak 17.070,88kg/jam yang diperoleh dari air sungai Musi, kebutuhan steam sebanyak 1.481,98kg/jam. Kebutuhan udara tekan sebanyak 50 m3/jam dan kebutuhan listrik diperoleh dari PLN dan generator sebesar 406,61 kW. Pabrik direncanakan beroperasi selama 330 hari pertahun dengan jumlah karyawan 129orang, modal tetap sebesar Rp 647.150.454.891,58 per tahun. Modal kerja sebesar Rp 242.464.414.113,27 per tahun. Setelah dipotong pajak keuntungan mencapai Rp219.015.924.994,38 per tahun. Percent of return on investment (ROI) sebelum pajak sebesar 44,11% dan sesudah pajak sebesar 31,21%. Pay out time (POT) sebelum pajak sebesar 1,83 tahun dan setelah pajak 2,43 tahun. Break even point (BEP) sebesar 40,7%, shut down point (SDP) sebesar 22,14%, Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) sebesar 47,6%. Berdasarkan pertimbangan nilai-nilai ROI, POT, BEP, SDP dan DCF untuk pabrik beresiko rendah perhitungannya memenuhi standar maka pabrik gliserol ini layak untuk didirikan. Kata kunci : gliserol, air,crude palm oil (CPO), RATB. Glycerol plant from crude palm oil and water with capacity 9,000 tons/year is designed to build in Industrial Rokan Hilir, Riau, around 2020. The forms of n-butyl methacrylate is an exothermic process and will be operated using continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR). The operating condition is adjusted at temperature 250˚C and pressure 55 bar. The synthesis process needs 106.70 kg/hour of CPO, 217.76 kg/hour of water, and 17.04 kg/hour of activated carbon as raw materials. The synthesis process produced 1,125.00 kg/hour of glycerol. To support this process, the utility takes 17,070.88 kg/hour of water from Musi River, and 1,481.98 kg/hour of steam. It also takes 50m3/hour of compressed air and 406.61 kW electrical needs from generator and PLN. Glycerol plant will be operated around 330 day/year by 129 employees. Fixed capital required to Rp647,150,454,891.58 and working capital Rp 242,464,414,113.27 per year. Profit after tax is required to Rp 219,015,924,994.38 per year. The Return on Investment (ROI) before taxes is 44.11%, and 31.21% after tax. Pay Out Time (POT) before taxes 1.83 years and 2.43 years after tax. Break Even Point (BEP) is 40.7%, Shut Down Point (SDP) is 22.14% and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) is 47.6%. From the feasibility study by calculations of ROI, POT, BEP, SDP, and DCF it can be concluded that n-butyl methacrylate plant deserves to be build. Keyword:glycerol, water, CSTR
