Abstract

Hospitalization is a dificult condition for children, particularly preschoolers because foreign surroundings, different habits and parting with parents. Anxiety of hospitalization that can be resolved with the intervention of nursing form the play therapy. Distraction of media comedy cart that can keep children entertained, laugh and feel relaxed. This study aims to determine the effect of comedy cart play therapy towards children anxiety level of hospitalization at RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. This research was a quantitative research with pre experiment design with type of one group pre test post test design. This study was done in room Melati II RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta with 32 sample of children were determined used purposive sampling technique. The data collection used anxiety questionnaires which then analyzed used paired sample t-test analysis. The result of paired sample test t-test was significant (2-tailed) 0,001 more small significanct from P-value 0,05 so then the test decision H0 rejected and Ha accepted, so there is the effect of comedy cart play therapy towards children anxiety level of hospitalization. Conclusion: Comedy cart play therapy has a significant effect on decreasing children anxiety level of hospitalization. Suggestions: Preschool-aged children who experience anxiety during hospitalization are recommended given comedy cart play therapy.
