Abstract

The low subjective well being is common in teenagers who grow and develop in an orphanage environment. This is indicated from the many phenomena that occur that adolescents living in the orphanage difficult to adapt to the surrounding environment. Family dysfunction is also one of the causes of the low Subjective well being of young women living in orphanages. The purpose of this study was to find out the subjective well-being of young women living in orphanages and the factors influencing subjective well being. Participants in this study consisted of 6 young women living in an orphanage. Data collection techniques used in this study are interviews and observation. Participant search was conducted using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that each individual was satisfied and grateful with the life that has happened so far. There are 3 individuals who have low social relationships and are less comfortable with the orphanage. Factors affecting subjective well being young women living in orphanages include: social and environmental relationships around the home or school, self-control, and optimism and a sense of gratitude.
