Abstract
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is an acute infection of lung tissue or commonly known as pneumonia. In general, empirical therapy for pneumonia disease used is an antibiotic agent. The appropriate and rational use of antibiotics provides cost-effective, cost-effective effects with increased clinical therapeutic effects, minimizing drug resistance and toxicity. This study included observational (non-experimental) type research, with retrospective data retrieval by looking at CAP patients medical record data and the data obtained were analyzed descriptively. Sampling of 47 patients to get an idea of the accuracy of antibiotics in patients with CAP to analysis the appropriat indication that were given, the patient, medication and appropriate dose.The results of the evaluation of antibiotic usage were 100% precise indication, 100% precise patient, 55,31%, precise drug, and 38,29% precise dose. Then, from this evaluation showed that 18 patients (38,29%) use of antibiotic were rational.
