Abstract

The Use of these anti-inflammatory drugs can cause side effects of gastrointestinal disorders and kidney damage (nephrotoxicity). Therefore, the search for an alternative treatment of inflammation that is safer to use plants or herbs one of which is tin plant, which actually has efficacy in curing diseases and digestive tract disorders and has the ability to reduce damage to kidney function. So from that research is done to explore herbal benefits especially tin leaf (Ficus carica L.). Tin leaf is macerated with ethanol 70% for 3 days. The test was performed on a Wistar Wistar rat with a weight of ± 200 grams for 6 hours, induced 2% w / v karagenin 1 mL subplantar 30 min before treatment. Rats were divided into 5 groups consisting of 5 animals tested. The given extract dose is 200, 400, and 800 mg / KgBW and CMC 0.5% as negative control and Diclofenac Sodium 4.5 mg / KgBW as positive control. Processing of AUC data by SPSS software by testing homogeneity, normality, Analysis of variance test and LSD test. Phytochemical screening by identifying the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, steroids and saponins. Maseration yields 13.56% rendement in the form of viscous extract. The three test doses are able to inhibit the occurrence of inflammation. Percentage of sequential anti-inflammatory power was 11.89 ± 5.37, 25.51 ± 7.68, and 22.64 ± 5.61. Statistical data showed that there were significant differences between the three doses compared with positive controls with p <0.05. The results of phytochemical screening indicate the presence of flavonoids, tannins and steroids in tin lean ethanol extract.
