Abstract
Background: The projected number of elderly population from year to year tends to increase. Elderly physiologically decline in body functions, one of which is the decrease in muscle mass and flexibility. Based on the research sit and reach test conducted by Spirduso showed that there is a flexibility difference of about 20% -30% between young people aged 20 years with the elderly aged 70 years. In addition, elderly women have decreased flexibility in the axis of the body especially back extension, and also there is a decrease in anterior flexion. The setback can be prevented by doing various components, such as yoga exercises. This can happen because of the stretching of asanas as an important component to increase the flexibility of yoga. 2 Research Objectives: To determine the effect of yoga on the flexibility of elderly backs in gymnastics RM 7 Colomadu. Research Method: The type of research used in this study is pre-experimental, with the research design used is one group pretest-posttest desaign. The sampling technique used in this research is to use purposive sampling technique with the number of sample 15 people.
