Abstract

Hospital formulary is a list of medicines approved by medical staff, prepared by pharmaceutical and therapeutic committees established by hospital management. Formulary is useful as a reference for prescription writers, optimizing services to patients, facilitating planning, and providing medication to health care facilities. This study aims to determine the percentage of drug prescribing fit to formulary in Karanganyar General Hospital in 2016. This research was descriptive non experimental research type with data collected retrospectively. Period of analysis for 3 months, taking data using random sampling method of drawing medical record number of patients in October, November, and December 2016. From the result of research, it is found that the prescribing suit to formulary is 94,23%. The highest prescribing matches of psychiatric specialists and ear, nose, throat specialists are 100% each. The lowest prescribing matches of lung specialists is 87.75%.
