Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is the influence of GDP, inflation and exchange rates on exports and imports in Indonesia in the short and long term. The data used in this research is secondary time series data from 1980-2016. The data used are obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics and World Bank. The analytical method used is Error Correction Model (ECM). The results showed that GDP variables significantly affect short-term export, but in the long run GDP has no significant effect. Inflation variables significantly influence short-term export in Indonesia, but in the long run inflation has no significant effect. The exchange rate variable has no significant effect on short-term export in Indonesia, but in the long term exchange rate has significant effect. The import function in this study can not be explained because it does not meet ECM requirements. Coefficient of determination value of 0.533025 which means that the independent variables GDP, Inflation and exchange rate affects 53.30% dependent variable of Indonesian exports.
