Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve student learning in IPS class VIII MTs Ringinlarik-Musuk Boyolali lesson year 2017/2018 by using Jigsaw Strategy. Jigsaw strategies are more effective than using conventional strategies. The subjects of the study were class VIII class VIII A and VIII B which required 58 students. This research use control class and experiment class, class VIII B that is middle control class VIII A that is Experiment class. The conclusion of this research is Jigsaw Strategy strategy can improve student effectiveness in learning IPS class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 10 Surakarta. Hypothesis test data using paired sample t test. Learning outcomes between the experimental class and control class indicate a difference. The mean value of the class that was using the jigsaw strategy, the average of students 'activity in the experimental class was 7.63 higher than the average of the students' activity in the control class that was 3.61. The difference of activity result from control class and eksperinmen class is 4.02. the average value of the test in the experimental class is 63.85 and the average of the test is 71. It shows the average average higher effectiveness with the average control class, so Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected.
