Abstract
The research deals with the study of landslide risk which might occur in Tawangmangu Sub-District, Central Java. The objective of the research is to assess the susceptibility level of landslide and landslide risk level. The integrated of survey method and secondary data analysis on geographic information system (GIS) platform was used to conduct this research. The landslide inventory data also was conducted based on the stratified purposive sampling of each field unit level. The study shows that the susceptibility of landslide in the research area can be divided into five levels. Level three (3) to five (5) are categorized as medium to high risk. These areas spread in the middle of Bandardawung Village, almost the entire area of Sepanjang Village, Plumbon, and the most eastern part of Tawangmangu Village (Top of Mt. Lawu). Additionally, in Kalisoro and Tengklik Village, the level 3 to 5 of landslide susceptibility are spread evently. Menwhile the level 1 to 2 (safe area) are mainly located in southern part of Gondosuli Village, Blumbang Village, western and eastern part of Nglebak Village, Karanglo, Tengklik, and Tawangmangu Village. The main result of this study shows that the majority settlements area in the Tawangmangu Sub-District have the high level of landslide risk.
