Abstract

The prevalence of anxiety in Indonesia reached 6.7%, while the level of anxiety in the Faculty of Medicine obtained anxiety was 57.1%. It shows that the level of anxiety a medical student is still quite high. The high rate of anxiety is a phenomenon that is examined in this study. The purpose is knowing the relationship between tahajud prayer and fasting on Mondays and Thursdays with anxiety level students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This research is an observational analytic with cross sectional approach to sampling using purposive sampling technique. The total sample of 70 students who qualify restriction criteria. Measurement tahajud prayer and fasting on Mondays and Thursdays using questionnaires, while the level of anxiety using TMAS (Taylor's Manifest Anxiety Scale). Data analysis using logistic regression. Based on logistic regression analysis of the influence of the dominant anxiety tahajud prayers p value = 0.000 and OR = 16.774 and OR= 7,174 p= 0,005 fasting on Mondays and thurdays. tahajud prayer irregular is a risk factor for anxiety in students at risk amounted to 16.774 and fasting on Mondays and thurdays is a risk factor for anxiety in student amounted to 7,174.
