Abstract

Depression is one of the main mood disorder. Depression that occurs in the elderly often can not be diagnosed and do not receive proper treatment, it is because the symptoms are often regarded as a part of the normal aging process. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of depression in the elderly with chronic pain Gedongan Village District of Baki, Sukoharjo. This study was a descriptive study because researchers did not provide treatment to the subjects but aims to portray the nursing problems in subjects where samples were taken. This study used a cross-sectional approach. The sample is 30 elderly people in the village of the District Gedongan, Baki, Sukoharjo. The sample in the study using the method of non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique Based on the research concluded : (1) The rate of depression in the elderly with chronic pain as much light category 6 (20.0%). (2) The rate of depression elderly with chronic pain in the category as many as 21 people (70.0%). (3) The rate of depression in the elderly with chronic pain as much weight category 3 (10.0%).
